Nestled along South Alma School Road in Mesa, The Pub N Grub stands out as a beloved neighborhood bar and restaurant that perfectly balances comfort food classics with a laid-back, inviting atmosphere. For more than three decades, this local gem has been a go-to spot for those craving hearty American fare, cold beers on tap, and a welcoming vibe that feels like an extended family reunion.
The cuisine at The Pub N Grub is all about satisfying cravings with flavor-packed dishes and generous portions. If you’re arriving hungry, the Hamburger and Cheeseburger are legendary for their juicy patties—especially the pre-made patties nestled perfectly in a nostalgic Patty Melt. Wings lovers will appreciate the options here: from classic naked wings served with sauce on the side, to the zesty and addictive Parmesan garlic wings praised by patrons. The BLT Sandwich is a crispy, savory treat, while the deep-fried mac and cheese, with its subtle jalapeño kick, offers a clever twist for those seeking something indulgent yet familiar.
Salad options such as the Santa Fe Chicken Salad, featuring fried chicken strips atop fresh greens, cheese, and Fritos, or the Lemon Pepper Chicken Salad with its delicately marinated grilled chicken breast, provide fresh, vibrant alternatives without sacrificing flavor. Meanwhile, the homemade chili, served in cups or bowls, warms the soul with its rich, comforting spice, making it a perfect accompaniment or a standalone delight.
But what truly sets The Pub N Grub apart is its perfectly paired drink selection and unmistakable atmosphere. From ice-cold drafts of Miller Lite, Michelob Ultra, and Cider, to inventive cocktails like the Bloody Mary or the refreshing Cali Squeeze Blood Orange, the bar staff is attentive, ensuring your glass is never empty. Reviewers rave about bartender Amber’s impeccable service and the efficient kitchen line led by Tommy, whose dedication to cleanliness and professionalism shines through every dish.
Walk inside and you’re met not just with great food and drinks but also an ambiance rich with nostalgia and camaraderie. The walls seem to echo years of shared laughter, spirited sing-alongs—like an impromptu rendition of “Sweet Caroline” when Neil Diamond comes on—and passionate sports watching, thanks to the many TVs scattered throughout. Pool tables and dart boards invite friendly competition, making it the perfect place to unwind, catch up with friends, or enjoy a casual night out.
Regulars affectionately note the unbeatable combination of friendly service, great value, and menu variety—from perfectly crispy beer-battered onion rings to seasoned tots and potato salad that rounds out the meal. It’s no surprise that many families have been returning here for over a decade, drawn by the welcoming atmosphere and consistently flavorful meals.

It’s more than just a bar and restaurant—it’s a cherished local institution where the flavors, fun, and friendships come together effortlessly.
When walking in to The Pub N Grub, Tempe I was immediately greeted by the waitress which took our drink orders right away. I ordered a beer which was Ice Cold and a BLT that came out delicious! My girlfriend ordered deep fried mac and cheese which came out nice and hot and had a little jalapeño kick to it! If you’re looking for a quick drink and a bit to eat in Tempe, The Pub and Grub is a must try!
Get that Mad Cow burger! Seasoned Tots.. Naked wings with sauce on the side. Cold frosty mugs for your beer. I don't know why this place slaps so hard with flavor and atmosphere, but it just DOES. The prices are very reasonable and we love the service. We have been coming here as a family for over 10 years. Plenty of TVs to watch sports and chill. Get here!
The fries were wonderful. The Parmesan garlic wings were awesome. And the Cali Squeeze Blood Orange was ice cold and refreshing. Neil Diamond came on and we all sang "Sweet Caroline" and had a ball.
"A charming, nostalgic dive bar with great bar food that’ll take you back. The Piccadilly Chips are a must-try! This place has been under the same welcoming ownership for 36 years, and it feels like the kind of spot where everyone really does know your name. With pool tables, darts, and a laid-back vibe, it’s perfect for a casual night out. I’ll definitely be back!"
Tommy and Amber are wonderful! You have a full view of the line and Tommy is constantly changing his gloves and works in such a clean and professional manner. Amber is a great bartender and your glass is never empty! She is so on top of things. 10/10 recommend. Great sandwiches and great drinks.
It's everything I want in a NEIGHBORHOOD PUB! BEEN REPN MESA AND HAVE THE BEST PRICES AND GREAT FOOD! NOTHING FANCY AND THAT'S AWESOME ‼‼ Dobson and other surrounding areas hang out! The only issue with the delicious food is the inconsistency in portion size. Thursday- Saturday the Combo app basket, fried pickles, etc.. are litterly half the size. Not Cool At All! 7$ for 10 slices of fried pickles on Friday.... Loco! On Monday, same order full basket. Otherwise, we all love you guys!
Good little neighborhood sports bar. Bar ambient, good music, pool, darts and enough big tvs to watch any game. Had the fish and chips and they were freshly fried. You can see the fryer from the bar.
